Stockholm, the capital of Sweeden, is the only city which offers many tourists attractions but it is well worth exploring if you want to discover the true beauty of the country. Stockholm – Stockholm is the capital of Sweden and the economic and commercial centre of the country – but it doesn’t really seem like a city at all. With wide open spaces and lakes dotted throughout the group of islands, Stockholm isn’t like a normal capital but it still has much to see and do. Of particular interest are the museums of Djurgården, and trendy nightlife of Södermalm.
Helsingborg – Much improved over recent times, the city of Helsingborg now boasts a fantastic harbour. The development of the city has also seen some incredible bars, restaurants and cafes open up around the harbour. Helsingborg has a warm exciting atmosphere.
Gothenburg – Located on the west coast of Sweden, the second city of the country is Gothenburg. The centrepiece of Gothenburg is its fantastic harbour. The city is host to Sweden’s most popular attraction, the world class theme park Liseberg. There are also some excellent cultural attractions scattered around the city, especially the Konstmuseet which has an excellent collection of art.
Vadstena – Situated by Lake Vättern, Vadstena is a beautiful town with a magnificent setting. There are some architecturally impressive buildings here, none more so than the Vadstena Slot.
Öland – This small island has some incredible sites. The highlight of the island are ruins and fortifications of which Borgholm castle is particularly impressive. |
