Located on the west coast of Sweden, Gothenburg is the countries second city. Gothenburg is a great place to spend some time with its myriad of cafes, bars, shops and restaurants with a warm welcoming atmosphere throughout.
The city is host to Sweden's most popular attraction, the world class theme park Liseberg. There are also some excellent cultural attractions scattered around the city, especially the Konstmuseet which has an superb collection of art.

Liseberg - The Liseberg is the biggest and best theme park in Scandinavia. This excellent attraction offers entertainment for all ages with exciting rides and enjoyable shows. The 1400 metre long rollercoaster is the parks centre piece.
Konstmuseet - This top class contemporary art museum is amongst the best in Sweden, and arguably whole of Europe. Konstmuseet has many exhibitions showcasing some of modern arts most famous artists.
Gothenburg Maritime Museum - If you have an interest in Ships then this is a must, and even if you don't it is still a great day out. Tours are available around 15 different vehicles ranging from war ships to steam powered boats.
Elfsborg Fortress - Located on a small island at the entrance to the harbour, the Elfborg fortress is quite a sight. This magnificent 17th century structure must not be missed, and was historically important in the nations defence. |

Midsummer (June) - One of the biggest celebrations in the Swedish calendar is celebrated on the longest day in the year when the sun doesn't set.
